Established in 2016 in Paris, Unknown Untitled implements its creative vision through forward-thinking design solutions, strategic consulting, and global design development. The studio cultivates awareness of societal shifts to provide relevant contributions. Its name reflects an approach that transcends individual expression, prioritizing purpose, meticulous execution, and a collaborative spirit.

The studio rethinks scenarios and imagines objects that allow for new ways of inhabiting the world. Each project leads to collaborations with diverse talents whose ideas are freely expressed within the team.

The creative office supports the changes of the contemporary world as physical limits become more defined while the potential of digital technology is redefined. With Meta, it iterates on new communication methods in consumer electronics. For Rimowa, it breathes modernity into a luxury brand's rich cultural and technological heritage. With Envision it explores the strategic and artistic directions of renewable energy. Research, design, and vision offered to project leaders allow them to anticipate their evolutions with relevance.

In parallel with projects for companies, organizations, and manufacturers, the studio self-initiates projects to realize its aspirations. A culture of experimentation is embodied in collections such as UU Tiles and Woodwork. Through these projects, a commitment to research is demonstrated – a continual search for new finishes, forms, and experiences.

One of our central commissions from 2017 to 2018 was the research and definition of the second generation of Portal devices. The studio defined features, user experiences, and design principles in collaboration with Facebook’s team, keeping the brand’s mission to “give people the power to connect with family and friends” in mind.

The exploration resulted in a family of complementary products designed to blend into the home environment — elemental yet approachable, sharing similarities in form and detail.
