“Reframing Sustainable Design to make the tools of fighting climate change as accessible and engaging as possible.” In 2020, The Studio started a long-term collaboration with the sustainable energy leader Envision. The company offers a wide range of solutions to help its partners reach a net zero emission goal. Among those solutions are wind turbines, energy storage, and management systems.

While governments and energy companies often obtain these large industrial products, design plays a decisive strategic role in helping these technological assets perform better, develop innovatively, and become more acceptable and desirable to the people who reside where they are deployed.

The role of the studio was to apprehend the entire set of products and services to design a cohesive ecosystem unified by a relevant design language addressing the different domains with nuances. The multiple programs the studio is involved in are quite technically complex and at an uncommon scale for industrial design work. Nonetheless, our ability to visualize and share different ways of thinking made its way through to achieve collaborative synergy.

The creative work spans from establishing the design language to tuning the details that matter during product development. Sometimes, the design input slowly infuses team members, and sometimes, it helps answer highly strategic questions.
